🍁 A Letter from Finance and Stewardship Convener 🍁
Dear People of Trinity,
As we approach Thanksgiving, we start to think of what we are grateful for, especially in this year of such turbulence. As the newly appointed convenor of our Finance and Stewardship Ministry, I am so proud of and grateful for how you have together maintained our offerings at the same level as last year. With the quick action of the Session we were able to make necessary changes to address the dramatic loss of rental income. Further, we received significant financial support from various federal government programs. These factors have enabled us to continue to be the Church in impactful, albeit different, ways. Congratulations to everyone for an extraordinary team effort. |
As has been our congregation’s practice for generations, at Thanksgiving we have an opportunity to make a special offering. This additional gift this year is proposed to focus not only upon ourselves as a congregation but also upon helping those less fortunate, in a tangible way. Through your thanksgiving offering envelope and the other ways noted in Trinity News and on the website, we can present this gift. Below we have made two suggestions for the Thanksgiving offering.
Our suggestions for this year are to give in support of:
Examples: improved recording and streaming capacity, increased use of and access to web-based resources - enabling greater awareness, inclusion and participation.
The coronavirus has threatened and diminished the food security reality of many of our neighbours. Our generosity is a huge help to them.
We look forward to the time when we can all meet in worship again and return to all our familiar and well-loved church programs. Until then, thank you again for your generosity and commitment.
Sincerely in Christ’s service,
Robin Campbell
Convener of the Finance and Stewardship Ministry
Our suggestions for this year are to give in support of:
- Further developing new Technologies for Trinity - in worship, music, education, fellowship, care and connections - within our congregation and for the community.
Examples: improved recording and streaming capacity, increased use of and access to web-based resources - enabling greater awareness, inclusion and participation.
- Deepening our longstanding financial support of the Food Bank ministry of St. Stephen's Presbyterian Church in Scarborough.
