News from our Church School!
December 1:
Last week the children drew a picture of the day that Jesus died. The colours they used were sombre (grey and purple), because of the sadness of the day. Jesus uttered his last word: “God, the work you gave me to do here is finished. Father into your hands I commend my spirit.”(Luke 23:46, SPARK Bible, New Revised Standard Version). Life is not always happy colours, sometimes it is sad and sombre as well. We need to remember no matter the colour of the day: Jesus loves me, unconditionally.
Today, we complete our last SPARK Fall Curriculum lesson. The Lesson’s Scripture Reference will be on: Jeremiah 31:27-34, A New Convenant. Sometimes God’s people forgot to love God, but God always remembered to love them. God sent Jeremiah to help people remember that they belong to God.

Prayer:
God, you sent an angel bright
To tell shepherds in the night
Of the gift of your own child:
Baby Jesus, meek and mild.
Help us share the gospel true:
Jesus came for me and you!
Amen.

December 29:
On the last Sunday of this year, we will be focusing on Isaiah 2:1-5, God will bring peace. The SPARK story Bible reads: Isaiah was a special man who gave people messages from God: “Trust God!” he said with excitement. “Count on God to care for you.” Looking back at 2019, do you have peace at the end of this year? Take some time today or during the next couple of days and try to remember times this year where you trusted God and counted on Him to take care of you.
